Hi, I’m Suresh Manickam, Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Wood Craft Works.
Wood has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father was a carpenter, and growing up, I spent countless hours by his side, watching him shape raw timber into something beautiful and meaningful. That experience shaped me — not just in skill, but in spirit.
In 2000, right after completing my 10th grade, I made a decision that felt completely natural — I joined my father and began learning carpentry full-time. From 2001 to 2005, I worked with him and absorbed everything I could. After that, I spent a couple of years gaining experience with other carpenters and interior designers, broadening my knowledge. But something always pulled me back to the way my father worked — with honesty, passion, and care.
In 2007, when my father fell ill, I tried working with a few others, but it never clicked. For me, this was never just about making furniture or doing interiors. I’ve always believed that the soul of a tree gets transformed into the soul of a home — and that’s not something you can treat like just another job.
That belief is what led me to start Wood Craft Works in 2009. The beginning wasn’t easy. I tried everything — Just Dial, IndiaMart, all those lead-generation platforms — but nothing really worked. So I went old-school. I visited construction sites, handed out pamphlets, and spoke to people directly about what I do and how I do it. Slowly, by God’s grace, I started getting projects. And the one thing I promised myself was this: no matter how small or big the project, I would give it my best.
My clients saw that. They appreciated the quality, the dedication, and the honesty — and their satisfaction laid the foundation for my goodwill.
What began as carpentry has now grown into complete interior solutions. Today, we handle modular kitchens, wardrobes, office rooms, false ceilings, TV units, pooja units, crockery units, and even custom-themed rooms — everything that makes a space truly feel like home.
This journey has been personal, emotional, and incredibly fulfilling. At Wood Craft Works, we don’t just build interiors — we bring dreams to life, one piece of wood at a time.
